With a history of about 1316 years, Fenghuang (Chinese for phoenix), a small city under the jurisdiction of the Tujia Autonomous Prefecture of Hunan Province, is surrounded by mountains and girdled by the Tuojiang River. This small, quiet city is famous for its beautiful landscape, and as birthplace of several celebrated Chinese personages. And Zhangjiajie, a rising tourist city famous for its unique natural scenery and abundant tourism resource, was listed into the World Natural Heritage Catalogue by the UNESCO in 1992. What's more, Zhangjiajie was awarded the title of "World Geological Park" in 2004. Day 1

Zhangjiajie Arrival

Take flight to Zhangjiajie, you will be met by your local guide and then be transferred to your hotel.

Day 2

Zhangjiajie to Fenghuang (B, L)

Sightseeing: Southern Great Wall

This morning we will drive to Fenghuang, enjoying the beautiful landscape en route. After lunch we depart to visit the Southern Great Wall. Built during the Ming dynasty (1622 AD) with a length of 382km, it was a major ancient project that served as a wall defending against Miao tribe uprisings. It also had the effect of cutting off the exchange of trade and culture between the Han nationality and Miao tribe. We photograph the sunset near the Great Wall.

Day 3

Fenghuang to Zhangjiajie (B, L, D)

Sightsee: Fenghuang Ancient Town

Today we will have a leisurely tour and photograph the Fenghuang Ancient Town, tasting its air of mystery, elegance and primitive simplicity. The bridges over the water and unique houses built on stilts displaying a harmony that is so often portrayed in traditional Chinese paintings.

Today we will also visit a Miao village, mingle with local ethnic minorities and take a glimpse of their culture and customs.

Drive to Zhangjiajie National Park in the late afternoon.

Day 4

Sightsee: Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, Tianzi Mountain

In the morning we take a gentle hike through the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. Located at the north of the park, Yuanjiajie is a mesa that overlooks a deep valley and a chain of mountain peaks. Later in the morning we transfer to the Tianzi Mountain and have fun enjoying lunch at the peak. The time after lunch is for leisurely exploration around the peak, take photo shots.

In the afternoon, we will take the cable car down.

Day 5

Zhangjiajie Departure (B, L)

Sightsee: Huangshi Village, Jinbian Brook Scenic Areas

After breakfast we walk into the national park and hike through the beautiful scenic spots like the South Heavenly Gate and the Star-gazing Platform. Located in the west of the park, at 1,200 meters above sea level, Huangshi village is the park's largest viewing terrace. Photograph the beautiful landscape. Explore Jinbian Brook in the afternoon, along which we stroll with chirping birds and singing cicadas.

Later this afternoon, you will be transferred to airport to take departure flight.

In the morning we take a gentle hike through the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area . Then we will transfer to The Tianzi Mountain and have fun enjoying lunch at the peak. Then leisurely exploration & photo around the peak. In the afternoon, we will take the cable car down.

Today we will visit the Huangshizhai / Huangshi Village and Jinbian Brook Scenic Area . Be transferred to airport in the afternoon.
