Day 1
Arrival in Shanghai
Transfer via: Flight on your own arrangement
Arriving in Shanghai, you will be met and transferred to your hotel by our local guide. The rest of the day will be free for your own purposes.
Day 2
Shanghai (B,L)
Sightseeing: Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, The Bund and Nanjing Road
In the morning you will take a relaxing walk to the lovely Yuyuan Garden, a beautiful garden in the south of the Yangtze River. Wandering through it, you will find pavilions, corridors, streams, courtyards as well as many other natural features.
Then we will head to the Jade Buddha Temple. The old-time and classical architectural style makes the temple unique and inimitable in this modern city. Both, the Sitting Buddha and the Recumbent Buddha are carved with whole white jade. If you're lucky, you can watch the monks serving a ceremony in a side room.
Today we will also have a visit to Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, which is the first kind of exhibition center in China showcasing a city’s development.
Finally we will take a walk to the famous Nanjing Road and the Bund. They are among the most recognizable architectural symbols of Shanghai and therefore a must-see when visiting Shanghai.
Day 3
Shanghai (B,L)
Sightseeing: Zhouzhuang Water Town, Cruise in Zhouzhuang
After breakfast, we will drive to Zhouzhuang. Zhouzhuang, one of the most famous water townships in China, situated in Kunshan City which is only 30 kilometers (18 miles) southeast of Suzhou. It is noted for its profound cultural background, the well preserved ancient residential houses, the elegant watery views and the strong local colored traditions and customs. In the Spring and Autumn Period (770 - 476 BC), Zhouzhuang was a part of the fief Yaocheng and called Zhenfengli. After being donated to Full Fortune (Quanfu) Temple by Zhou Digong, a very devout Buddhist, in 1086 during the Northern Song Dynasty (960 - 1127), Zhouzhuang got its present name as a memorial of the donor.
You will see Twin Bridges, Fu'an Bridge, Shen House, Zhang House, Milou Tower etc, and also have a cruise in Zhouzhuang.

Today will be free for your own purposes, until our guide will escort you to the airport for your next destination.

E. Hotels: Hotel Based on two persons sharing one room with twin beds. All hotels as listed in the above itinerary serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.

Contacted Lisa from Visit Our China to arrange a 9D8N tour of Guangzhou Guilin for a group of 8. I provided a list of places to visit and Lisa was able to craft out the itinerary. We also made some changes along the way as one of the members had difficulty walking. The member even contacted Lisa to ask for advice on alternative locations to visit. Will for sure contact VOC again for future trips we may consider. We contacted Lisa for a trip to Changbaishan early september 2025 and an other one to Zhangjiajie in October.
