September the 3rd, 2009, a special day in China, the Chinese Zhongyuan Festival comes. For Chinese people, there are two kinds of calendars we are using among centuries, the solar calendar and the lunar one, the solar one is the same date as the one we usually talk about in our daily lives while the lunar one was commonly used in the old China but is still being used by many people to record their birthdays, the date and it is even used to judge the lucky level on each day and it is used to keep the agricultural seasons for the farmers. This is my first time to take part in some sport affairs as a company member after graduation from university. Although I had played many football games when I was a student, the feeling I had this time was totally different. We have some really good players in the company; it is hard to find some male players who are good at some sport games in an international travel agency, because the total number of the male is much less than the female! The early part of the August, happens to be the coolest part of the summer in Guilin. My colleagues and I took this opportunity and had a wonderful weekend together in Guanyan, Guilin, Longji gorge and Longsheng. As a native of Guilin, I had always known that Guanyan had one of the most famous scenic spot in Guilin. Even as a child I had heard about its beauty, but I never had an opportunity to visit there. Last weekend, I finally turned this dream into a reality. I finally got the taste of the beauty which it is well known for. The day in Longji gorge, rafting had a substantial affect on me. Words cannot describe the first feel of the rafting. I am sure this sport and some might call it adventure is going to take the world by storm. Time passed so quickly but the experience and thrill is fresh in my mind. It brought lots of happiness and togetherness we had in those two days.

Last week Sandy surprised me with an invitation for a farewell trip with all of my colleagues; I was very surprised and touched of.I and my German friend Lena, who came over from Guangzhou for the weekend, met them in front of the office building on Sunday morning. Last week I spontaneously decided to make a trip to Xian. On Friday night my flight took off and it lasted about 100minutes until I arrived at Xian airport. I took the airport express bus, which directly takes off in front of the exit. It costs 25RMB per person and transports you into the city center (to Melody Hotel next to the Bell Tower). After checking in I had a good sleep and got up the next morning....

Sunday, 14.06.2009On Sunday morning we were picked up at 9am by our local tour guide Nancy for the day trip to Suzhou. Suzhou is a famed silk production centre and a celebrated retreat brimming with gardens and canals. The drive by car took us 2 hours. First of all we visited Humble Administrators Garden, a garden dating back to the 1500s. The architecture of this place was stunning. The creator of this garden had made use of pavilions, water and plants to become a unity....

Thursday, 11.06.2009As I had departed from Germany in March, my father and brother Andi (18years old) wanted to visit me in China. As there are no direct flights to Guilin we decided to have our reunion in Shanghai. My brother and I met on Thursday in Pudong Airport.
