updated: 2013-05-31
Photo taken on May 24, 2013 shows colored sculptures at the Shengmu Dian (Hall of the Saint Mother) of Jinci Temple in Taiyuan, capital of north China's Shanxi Province. Jinci Temple was first built during the period of the Northern Wei (386-534) in commemoration of Shuyu, the second son of Emperor Wuwang of the Zhou dynasty (1100-771 BC). Shengmu Dian is the principal hall in the temple, built to remember the mother of Shuyu, featuring 42 various sculptures of maids. (Xinhua/Yan Yan)
