Day 1
Arrive in Shanghai
Transfer via: Flight on your own arrangement
Arriving in Shanghai, you will be met and transferred to your hotel by our local guide. The rest of the day will be free for your own purposes.
Day 2
Shanghai (B,L)
Sightseeing: Yuyuan Garden, Jade Buddha Temple Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, the Bund and Nanjing Road
In the morning you will take a relaxing walk to the lovely Yuyuan Garden, a beautiful garden in the south of the Yangtze River. Wandering through it, you will find pavilions, corridors, streams, courtyards as well as many other natural features.
Then we will head to the Jade Buddha Temple. The old-time and classical architectural style makes the temple unique and inimitable in this modern city. Both, the Sitting Buddha and the Recumbent Buddha are carved with whole white jade. If you're lucky, you can watch the monks serving a ceremony in a side room.
Today we will also have a visit to Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, which is the first kind of exhibition center in China showcasing a city’s development.
Finally we will take a walk to the famous Nanjing Road and the Bund. They are among the most recognizable architectural symbols of Shanghai and therefore a must-see when visiting Shanghai.
Day 3
Xitang (B,L)
Sightseeing: Xitang, Cruise in Xitang
Today we will drive to Xitang Ancient Town near Shanghai. Xitang is level,densely distributed with rivers and has a very quiet natural environment.9 rivers converge in this town,dividing it into 8 sections,but many bridges link this water town together(anciently called as "nine dragon old pearl" and "wind from 8 sides").Inside the town,there are many well-preserved architectural groups constructed during the Ming and Qing dynasties,which boast a higher artistry and study value,thus being highlighted by the experts at home and abroad studying antique buildings.
Drive back to Shanghai in the afternoon.

Shanghai Departure (B)
Transfer via: Flight on your own arrangement
Today will be free for your own purposes, until our guide will escort you to the airport for your next destination.

D. Guide and Driver: As outlined in the itinerary, a well selected English-speaking guide and driver will accompany you throughout the entire tour in that city. They do not fly with you from one city to another.
E. Hotels: Hotel Based on two persons sharing one room with twin beds. All hotels as listed in the above itinerary serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.
F. Luggage Transfers: Between airports and hotels.
G. Service Charge & Government Taxes.
H. Travel insurance in mainland China during the above travel period.

Our 8-day Guilin Natural Scenery Ethnic Minority Discovery tour with Visit Our China was truly a wonderful and unforgettable experience. Our bus driver was also highly experienced and drove very carefully, making us feel safe and comfortable throughout the journey. Thanks Lisa! It was a great trip. Luther is an excellent guide, very helpful and proactive. Ms Xuli is very knowledgeable, unfortunately our mandarin is functional at best, so she had to explain a lot of the cultural references she was using. Simon managed to last minute closures and changes well. We learnt a lot, ate a lot (really liked the lunch at Yibin, ciqikou and dinner Lizhuang). Next time I will factor in more time for shopping.
