Jumeirah Group Signs Sixth Property in China

The Dubai-based Jumeirah Group has announced that it has signed an agreement with Shanghai Zendai Himalaya Real Estate Company on the management of Venu Himalayas Hotel Shanghai, which will be the first-ever Jumeirah Venu.
The hotel, which is reported to be being developed in Pudong, will have 400 guest rooms and suites and is expected to open in 2011.
Jumeirah announced in April 2010 that it will launch a new contemporary lifestyle hotel brand, Venu Hotels, its second hotel brand following the luxury Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts brand.
Venu Himalayas Hotel Shanghai is the sixth hotel property Jumeirah Group has signed in China, making a total of 43 hotels in operation or under construction of Jumeirah Group worldwide.
