The First Longsheng Rice Terraces Culture Tourism Festival Will Kick off During Dragon Boat Festival

Launched together by Longsheng Various Nationalities Autonomous County and Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County of Guangxi Province, and Tongdao Dong Autonomous County and Chengbu Miao Autonomous County of Huanan Province, the first International Longsheng Rice Terrace Culture Tourism Festival and 2012 China .Guilin Travel & Original Ecological Ethnic Amorous Feelings of Guangxi and Hunan Festival will be held in Longsheng County and the renowned scenic area of Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces from June 22 to June 24 during the jubilant traditional Chinese Dragon Boat Festival (which falls on June 23 in 2012).
The opening ceremony will be held on June 22 in county town of Longsheng; on the day of Dragon Boat Festival on June 23, it is the Jinkeng Rice Terraces Scenic Area (of Miao ethnic group) that carry out a series of folkway celebrations and a grand bonfire party in the evening; and on June 24, Ancient Zhuang Village (of Zhaung people) is the site for the much-awaited torch festival.
During the festivals, kind of traditional performances, celebrations and competitions of Yao, Miao and Zhuang ethnic groups will be held, including shows of ethnic songs and dances, gong and drum, ethnic costumes, games of ethnic flower balls and embroidery balls, dragon dances by females, local specialties cooking and so forth.
