Heilongjiang's Yichun will hold a Forest Ecological Tourism Festival on July 13 aimed at boosting healthy and environmentally friendly traveling.

The annual gala, now in its 12th year, will feature folk song performances and a classical music concert performed by China Philharmonic Orchestra in Hinggan National Forest Park.

During the festival, tourists can venture deep into the forest, go river rafting and attend exhibitions of paintings, calligraphy and carvings on birch boards.

Trade talks and symposiums on ecotourism will also be held during the event.

Situated in the Lesser Hinggan Mountains, Yichun has a forest coverage of 86 percent and is home to the Korea Pine, a protected plant.
