updated: 2011-01-28
Keelung, a major port city situated in the northeastern part of Taiwan, has officially established the Xiamen office for Keelung City Tourism Alliance Association, as part of its efforts to boost travel and cultural exchanges between the two cities.
Local media said that it is the first tourism-related economic and trade office set up by cities or counties in Taiwan. The office will provide multiple services for the public on both sides of the Strait.
Zhan Cangzhou, the vice mayor of Xiamen, said the establishment of the office will help further promote the tourism, cultural and economic cooperation and exchanges between the two cities.
The establishment of the office is based on discussions at the 6th Cross-Strait Travel Fair.
