Beijing-Shenyang Line to Be Completed in 2014

According to a document released by the Third Survey and Design Institute Group of the Ministry of Railways, construction of the high-speed Beijing to Shenyang passenger line is expected to be completed in 2014.
The document says that the railway line will be 705.156 kilometers long and will have 16 stations, with five in Beijing: Beijing Station, Xinghuo Station, West Shunyi Station, South Huairou Station, and East Miyun Station.
Trains running on this line will have a speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour. It is expected to cut journey time between the two cities to two hours. Construction is slated to start at the end of this year.
The construction of the Beijing to Shenyang passenger line got approval from the National Development and Reform Commission in 2009.
