Shanghai-Hangzhou High-Speed Railway Completes Trials

The Shanghai to Hangzhou High-Speed Railway has finished its trial operations and is planned to officially start operating from October 26, 2010.
The train CRH380A, running between the metropolis of Shanghai and Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang province, has set a new world-speed record of 416.6 kilometers per hour.
Travel time between Shanghai and Hangzhou will be shortened to around 45 minutes from more than an hour.
Construction on the 202-kilometer long high-speed railway began in February 2009.
