Tibet Weather
Located in the high plateau with an average altitude of more than 4000 meters, Tibet has an intensive radiation and ultraviolet rays, much sunlights but low temperature. The higher the altitude and the latitude of the site, the lower the temperature. Most regions of Tibet has a low average temperature under 15 Celsius degree even in the warmest month; its average temperature is also 15-20 Celsius degree lower all year round than in other areas in Central Plain located of the same latitude. There is no clear division of four seasons in Tibet, but distinct difference between dry and wet. It rains mostly in night time. The winter is dry, frigid, long and with big gales; and in summer, it is cool, rainy and with many hails. To travel in Tibet, visitors need to keep away from rainy season and severe winter; therefore, from July to September, it is the best time to visit Tibet in a year.
