Electricity In China
China’s electrical current is 220volts, 50 cycles alternating current (AC). If your country uses 110volts, it is very important to bring an electrical converter with you. Many modern appliances, such as laptops are dual-voltage and can be used with both 220volts and 110volts, but it is important to make sure that the electrical devices you are bringing with you can handle 220volts, or they will burn up. It is highly recommended that you purchase a higher-end converter. Many of the cheaper ones tend to last a very short time and it is almost impossible to find an electrical converter in China.
China’s outlets are different than other parts of the world, and different parts of China use different plugs, so it is recommended that you bring along an adapter to make sure you can plug in your electric devices. Some places have adapters, but in many parts of China, they are very hard to find, so remember to bring one with you when you leave your home country.
