created: 2009-04-27

Recently, experts reviewed and approved the plan for the Kanas international ski resort project. Upon its completion, the ski base, which will occupy an area of over 20 square kilometers, will become the largest in China.

The Kanas scenic spot, located in northwestern Xinjiang, is well-known at home and abroad for its graceful and natural landscapes. The area has many factors such as a mountainous structure, geographic pattern, temperature and grade of slopes, which make it naturally well equipped with excellent conditions for the establishment of ski slopes.

The Kanas international ski resort project was initiated in May 2008. After this five-stage project is completed, it will have 14 ski lifts, slopes that have a total length of 60 kilometers, and will be capable of receiving 25,000 visitors a day.
