Shanghai Set to Welcome Visa-free Visitors from 45 Countries for 72 Hours

Shanghai announced that, from 1st January, 2013, visitors from 45 countries will be allowed 72-hour stay without a visa. These countries include, Austria , Belgium , Czech Republic, Denmark , Estonia, Finland , France , Germany , Greece , Hungary, Iceland , Italy , Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta , Netherlands , Poland , Portugal , Slovakia , Slovenia , Spain , Sweden , Switzerland , Russia , the United Kingdom , Ireland , Cyprus , Bulgaria , Romania , Ukraine , the United States , Canada , Brazil , Mexico , Argentina , Chile, Australia , New Zealand, South Korea, Japan , Singapore , Brunei , the United Arab Emirates , and Qatar.
Citizens from the above 45 countries, so long as they hold a ticket to a third country and proof of identity, can have visa exemption of staying in Shanghai for no more than 72 hours.
Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection of Shanghai will set up visa-free check-up area and passageway in Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to provide effective service.
