China's Global Tourism Competitiveness Rank Up to 39th

According to 2011 Global Tourism Competitiveness Report released by the World Economic Forum, China's travel and tourism industry competitiveness ranking has risen up to 39th worldwide from its previous ranking of 62nd four years ago.
 
The improvement is attributed to infrastructure construction and strong investment in tourism. The report says that the number of Chinese outbound tourists ranked third in the world and have become an important driving force in the development of global tourism.
 
According to the report, Switzerland topped the list, with Germany and France taking second and third place respectively. In addition, Austria, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Spain, and Singapore are also in the top-10 list. Hong Kong is ranked in 12th place while Taiwan is ranked in 37th place.
 
The report covers 139 countries and regions from all over the world.
