created: 2011-01-20
Budget airline Jetstar has decided to commence operating direct services between Singapore and Hangzhou from March 22, 2011, which makes Jetstar the first carrier to offer a direct service between the two destinations.
Initially Jetstar will commence with a three-times service weekly, and will extend the schedule to four times weekly by March 27, 2011. All services will operate using Airbus A320 aircraft.
Hangzhou will become the carrier's fourth mainland China service and is regarded as important next step in the evolution of its expansion into China.
In just over 12 months, Jetstar has commenced low fare services into mainland China with services to Haikou, Shantou, and Guilin. The carrier also flies direct daily services from Singapore to other countries and regions in Asia, including Hong Kong, Macau, and Taipei.
Outward flights will depart from Singapore at 18.30 and the return flights will leave Hangzhou at 00.30 the following day.
The schedule of flights is subject to final regulatory approval.
