Xiamen Airport Tops 10 Million Passengers This Year

Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport has handled 10.94 million passengers in the first 10 months of 2010, reaching the 10 million barrier a month earlier than last year.
In October, the airport throughput hit a new record of 1.18 million passengers since August. Its cargo and mail throughput hit an average of 20,000 tons for three consecutive months.
Xiamen airport is the only airport in Xiamen, which is a coastal city in Fujian Province and the base of Xiamen Airlines. In 2009, Xiamen airport was the 10th busiest airport in terms of cargo traffic, the 11th busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic, and the 15th busiest airport by traffic movements in China.
