Hi Elaine - thank you for following up. My China experience was the best.  I'm not sure if you remember, but I was also spending 2 weeks volunteering in Xian, in between my excursions to Beijing and Shanghai.  I was volunteering at the Xian History Museum, helping tour guides improve their English. So that part, certainly gave a lot of meaning to my trip.
 
Rosa and I were very pleased with the tour guide and driver you provided in Beijing. Sandra and Mr. Wang were clearly experienced professionals in their work and very pleasant.
 
I was less pleased with the Tour Guide in Shanghai, although there too, the driver was excellent.
 
On the other hand, the guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and good company in Beijing. Rosa and I enjoyed exploring the hutongs in the area as well as being close to the Forbidden City.  The tour guide in Beijing provided the itinerary exactly as we discussed, so we used every moment of our time in Beijing.  It was great.
