Taiwan Cuisine

Taiwan's culinary landscape is similar to that of its mainland neighbors Guangdong Province and Fujian Province with some minor adjustments. Sugar, curry and peanut sauce are commonly used, making Taiwanese food markedly sweeter than most Chinese cuisine. Taiwan is of course nationally renowned as the birthplace of most Chinese snack-food: milk tea, beef jerky, fish balls, friend and skewered squid are all famous Taiwanese snacks, and sharkfin soup is among the more specialized delicacies of the region.
