First Tibet Tourism and Gourmet Cultural Festival to start

Between September 30 and October 6, Lhasa will hold the first Tibet Tourism and Gourmet Cultural Festival. At this time, visitors from home and abroad will be able to taste the delicious snacks from all parts of the nation as well as gain an appreciation of the unique and mysterious Tibetan culture.
During the festival, Lhasa will be one of the branch arenas of the sixth National Culinary Art Competition. Almost 300 contestants from Shaanxi, Sichuan, Anhui, Beijing and Tibet will gather to demonstrate their excellent culinary skills. Meanwhile the Chengguan District in Lhasa will host a large Tibetan-flavor commodities trade show, in an effort to make the festival a combination of tourism, entertainment, catering and shopping into one grand event.
