Beijing publishes measures to improve tourism services

Beijing Municipality is to publish 67 measures in 2010 with the aim of improving the level and quality of the city's tourism services and to offer more considerate services to tourists.
At the Beijing publicity and consultation day for the 2010 National Tourism Service Quality Improvement Year, officials from Beijing Tourism Administration told local media that the administration will carry out 67 specific measures in ten aspects concerning tourism market guidance and publicity, key industries development, implementation of Travel Agency Regulations, standardization construction, law enforcement of quality supervision, tour guide management, star-rated hotels management, travel agencies management, and other fields.
In recent years besides enhancing market supervision and improve tourism service quality, Beijing Tourism Administration has been guiding consumers to establish a rational consumption concept. The BTA has used various means including SMS tips, outdoor billboards, promotional video broadcasts, free travel tips brochures, a 12301 tourism service hotline, and tourism information service centers.
