Hainan To Establish E-itinerary System To Regulate Tourism Market
created: 2010-03-16
Hainan province is to establish an e-itinerary system with tourism information of scenic spots and tickets, to help regulate the Hainan tourism market.
The system will only allow travel agencies to choose scenic spots from resources in the database, and tour guides will have to follow the appropriate e-itinerary when organizing tour groups.
According to Hainan Provincial Tourism Development Committee the e-itinerary will be only open to legitimate travel agencies and tour guides, and unlicensed agencies and guides will have no access to this site.
The e-itinerary is also known as a travel amulet and it will offer accurate information about dining, lodging, transport, sightseeing, shopping and entertainment for tourism enterprises and consumers. It will also be a green channel allowing consumers to verify, consult, complain, and make comments and suggestions online. After the system is formally set up, the electronic editions of tour guide designation and itinerary schedules will be distributed to travel agencies, tour guides and tourists after carefully verification. Each itinerary schedule will have an exclusive authentication barcode allowing tourists to verify its validity and to allow supervision by the administrative department.
