created: 2009-07-22
To regulate the tourism industry, travel agencies in Chaozhou, Guangdong province have signed a self-discipline convention, and have also set guide prices for three tourist routes.
The three routes concerned are: Xiamen two-day trip, Meizhou one-day and two-day trip, and Jiexi Jingming one-day trip. Agencies will have to implement the guide prices from ten days after the date the convention was signed. In addition, travel agencies shall not make false or misleading advertising in media, on Internet or at their outlets. Any activities and charges not covered by the contract are not allowed.
The convention will not only protect the interests of tourists, but protect the business interests of agencies for it will reduce the fierce competition in the industry.
