After two years’ construction, the Jiangdu Airport, co-built by Yangzhou City and Taizhou City, launched its first flight with CA1842 to Beijing on May 8th, marking its official operation.
Before the construction of the Yangzhou-Taizhou Airport, Yangzhou was mainly served by Nanjing Lukou Airport, and travelers need to transfer by train or coach to Yangzhou.
Covering 234 hectares with a total investment of CNY2,100 millions, and located in Jiangdu District of Yangzhou, the new airport is 30 km from downtown Yangzhou and 20 km from downtown Taizhou respectively. Till now, it has only launched several flights to some big cities, but more routes will be opened successively.
