Beijing Ranks 8th in Satisfaction List

CRI, June 14, 2011
A report on Chinese urban life shows that Beijing residents find their lives in the nation's capital to be unsatisfactory, in spite of its rapid economic growth and the government's work to make the city more accommodating.
The first China City Life Quality Index report was issued over the weekend by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the Capital University of Economics and Business.
Beijing ranks eighth among the country's 30 provincial and regional capitals. At the top of the list are Guangzhou and Shanghai.
The cities' quality of life was calculated considering their incomes per capita, inflation rates, green areas and other objective signs.
