TravelSky Establishes Company in Taiwan

TravelSky Holdings, a provider of IT solutions to China's air travel and tourism industries, has announced the establishment of its first branch in Taiwan.

 

The company says on its website that the Taiwan TravelSky Company is the first wholly-owned subsidiary of its kind set up by a state-owned enterprise. The Taiwan company will serve the air industries in both mainland China and Taiwan.

 

On August 31, 2009, the Chinese mainland and Taiwan started regular air services, ending the 60-year-long ban on flight links. In 2010, the number of passengers flying across the Strait exceeded five million. Currently the number of regular flights is 370 per week and the maximum number of daily round-trip flights surpasses 100.

 

Furthermore, the local authorities in Taiwan are planning to allow mainland tourists to travel to the island under an individual visitor scheme in 2011.
