Korean Air Launches Guangzhou-Wonju-Cheju Route
updated: 2010-10-29
Korean Air, South Korea's flagship airline, has started to operate flights on the Guangzhou-Wonju-Cheju route — from October 23, 2010 to February 28, 2011: in a bid to meet the increasing demand of Chinese tourists for winter sightseeing and skiing in South Korea.
Korean Air says it has codeshared with China Southern Airlines on the Guangzhou to Incheon flight and now operates 18 flights on that route per week.
Chinese passengers can take Korean Air's flights to Incheon and then take bus there to Wonju, where they can enjoy skiing. After that, they can fly with the carrier to Cheju, where they can enjoy snow.
Flights leave Wonju at 15:05 every day and arrive in Cheju at 16:15.
The carrier also said that it cooperated with South Korea's tourism authority to develop various travel agendas for Chinese tourists, including the upcoming "Korean Week" to be held in Guangzhou during the Asian Games.
