Beijing Tourist Arrivals Exceed 9.3 Million over National Day Holiday

Beijing, the capital city of China, reaped a tourism boom over the seven-day National Day holiday as the number of tourist arrivals exceeded 9.3 million: 13.7% more than the same period last year.
According to the local tourism authority, the city's tourism revenue rose 21.7% from a year ago to a record CNY6.03 billion.
During the Golden Week, the number of tourists visiting the Forbidden City jumped 53.9% year on year to 540,000. Beijing Zoo received 535,000 visitors, up 61% from a year earlier, while the Temple of Heaven attracted 350,000 tourists, representing a year-on-year growth of 93%.
The number of domestic tourists rose 14.9% year on year to 2.31 million, with a tourism spend of CNY5 billion, while the number of Beijing residents traveling across the city rose 13.3% to 6.98 million, with a tourism spend of CNY1.03 billion.
