Baotou has a contrasting climate, with the city frequently moving between drought and rainfall. In the summer after spring rain Baotou springs to life with grasslands covered in lush green vegetation, and fresh, juicy fruit and vegetables in season. In the winter the ground is covered in a white veil of ice, bringing a different kind of beauty.
