Expo lecture attracts students at Tibet University

Huang Yaocheng, counselor for domestic participants with the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, gave a lecture at a seminar on Expo 2010 yesterday afternoon at Tibet University in Lhasa.

More than 600 students attended the lecture.

Expo 2010 is the first World Expo hosted by a developing country, which will set up an example for other developing nations, said Huang.

Expo is an opportunity but also full of challenges, Huang added.

Huang also talked about the history of Expo, China’s bid for Expo, Expo 2010’s contribution to economy, Expo’s philosophies and goals and highlights of Expo 2010.

The seminar is a part of the Expo promotion week activities in Tibet. The statue of Expo mascot Haibao will also be installed on the campus of Tibet University during the week.
