Mandala Airlines to Launch Direct Flight to Macau
updated: 2010-07-09
The low-cost airline Mandala Airlines, which is based in Indonesia, will launch a three times-a-week direct flight service between Jakarta and Macau from July 21, 2010.
Mandala Airlines has been operating domestic flights for the past 40 years but only recently begun to expand into the international arena. It is currently operating flights between Jakarta and Singapore.
Ever since the closure of Viva Macau Airlines in late March 2010 there has been no direct aviation service between Macau and Jakarta.
Mandala Airlines is reported to believe that there is great market potential in Macau for rapid economic development.
