Taxes Refunds for Inbound Tourists in Beijing and Shanghai

Starting from July 1st, overseas visitors will be offered tax refunds in Beijing and Shanghai designated stores while purchase from private vendors are not eligible. The minimum purchase for a tax refund is 500 Yuan (about $82) at any one store in one day. The refund will be paid in RMB in cash or transferred to the buyer’s bank account. Besides, those items which are banned from taking overseas are not covered in the rebate.
