The Forbidden City Restoration Project Being Carried Out

In order to strengthen the conservation of historic buildings and enhance the level of exhibition, two building areas near the Meridian Gate, the southern and largest gate of Forbidden City (also known as the Palace Museum) in Beijing began to undergo restoration project on September 3. It is introduced that after overall renovation, the building areas will form a spacious and modernized exhibition hall covering an area of more than 2800 square meters, rare collections of the Forbidden City and valuable cultural relics from all over the world then will be exhibited there after May 31st, 2015.
