From June 2011, China Southern Airlines, the country's largest commercial carrier, is set to start a non-stop service on the route linking Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province and Vancouver, Canada.
This is the first route between the Chinese city and the port city in Canada and it will serve passengers such as migrants, overseas students, businessmen, and tourists. It will be operated every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday using Boeing 777B aircraft.
Outbound flights will depart from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 13:00, and arrive in Vancouver at 10:20 local time; while the return flight will leave Vancouver at 12:00 and arrive in Guangzhou at 14:50.
On April 8, 2011 China Southern began a three-times-weekly direct air service on Guangzhou to Auckland route operated by Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The Guangzhou-based carrier became the first mainland carrier to provide direct air transportation to New Zealand from the south of China.
China Southern operates a fleet of 420 aircraft and serves 172 cities in 30 countries and regions, with Guangzhou and Beijing as the hubs.
