TransAsia Airways to Operate Taipei-Chongqing Route
updated: 2011-02-21
TransAsia Airways, an international carrier based in Taiwan, recently announced that it would open non-stop flights between Taipei Songshan Airport and Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport in March 2011.
The new service will be operated using 182-seat Airbus A321s and will fly every Thursday and Saturday.
The Taiwanese carrier said it will shift its focus to second-tier cities in the Chinese mainland as the competition in first-tier cities is pretty intense.
The carrier has already started flights to Hebei province and Anhui province. Chongqing is the first southwestern city they have entered.
