Mainland China and Hong Kong Top AP Tourist Destinations

According to a recent survey released by MasterCard, the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong are among the top destinations now for Asia-Pacific tourists.
The other most popular destinations are Japan and Australia, the survey says.
The survey found that nearly 25% of MasterCard's Asia-Pacific customers were planning to travel overseas in the next six months. Of these, 26% preferred Japan, 21% planned to travel to mainland China, 19% chose Australia, and 18% would visit Hong Kong.
Hong Kong consumers accounted for 58% of the total who plan to travel overseas, and the figure was the highest among the 24 Asia-Pacific regions where the survey was conducted.
The survey also showed that 88% of the consumers who have plans to travel overseas chose destinations within the Asia-Pacific region, and 56% of them prefer to travel by air.
