Beijing Capital Airport Sees September Numbers Up 18.7%

Airport operator Beijing Capital International Airport Company has announced that passenger traffic in September 2010 at the airport increased to 6.36 million: up 18.7% from a year earlier.
In the first nine months of 2010, Beijing Capital Airport handled 55.31 million passengers, 14% more than in the same period of last year. The number of domestic passengers rose by 18% in September, while international passengers and that from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan rose by 21.2%.
Figures released by the operator also showed that aircraft takeoffs and landings rose 5.9% year on year to 43,200 in September 2010. Flights on domestic routes rose 3.5%, while overseas flights and flights to Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan rose by 15.8%.
The operator said that in the period from January to September 2010, aircraft movements rose 6% from the previous year to 386,000.
