One Day Gongcheng Ancient Villages Tour from Guilin

Itinerary: Full day private tour to Gongcheng, visit the ancient villages and have a try of the special local food Oil Tea
  
You will be picked up from your hotel centrally located in Guilin at about 8:30am then start the tour.

Today you will be driven to Gongcheng, a county belongs to Guilin city, to visit the ancient villages there, and the driving time is about 2-2.5 hours.

Firstly you will visit the “Red Slogan No.1 Village” –Dongzhai Village in Lianhua Town. Dongzhai Village is a Yao village with a hundred-year history. The houses in the whole village are all made of mud bricks and blue tiles, and the planning is orderly. In the village, slogans dot almost every corner of the houses. The content of the slogans mainly consists of slogans and quotations from Chairman MAO. Despite more than half a century, the slogans in Dongzhai Village are still clear.

Then you will visit the Mendeng Village in the town. The village retains a large number of "Jiujia" dwellings built in the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China with strong Lingnan style: herringbone roof, fan-shaped eaves, round window top, white lines on red walls.

After having lunch at your own expenses (you may try the local food Oil Tea if you're interested), you will visit Yangxi Village in Xiling Town. Yangxi Village is an ancient family village and the best-preserved one in Gongcheng County. It is said to have a history of more than 600 years. At present, there are still 28 ancient brick buildings with more than 200 rooms in the village that have been kept intact. The ancient buildings in Yangxi Village are typical of the Qing Dynasty. The courtyard of the whole village is one house connecting with another, and the layout is clever and reasonable.

The tour ends at about 16:00. After the tour you will be transferred back to your hotel in Guilin.
