Tianjin (B, L)

Sightseeing: Tianjin Museum, The Memorial to Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao, Shi family Manson, Tianjin Culture Street

Today we will first visit Tianjin Museum. Tianjin Museum is the largest museum in Tianjin, exhibiting a range of cultural and historical relics significant to Tianjin. The museum lies in Yinhe Plaza in the Hexi District of Tianjin and covers an area of about 50,000 sq metres. The unique architectural style of the museum, whose appearance resembles that of a swan spreading its wings, has meant that it is quickly becoming one of the city's iconic buildings.

Then move on to The Memorial to Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao is dedicated to the memory of Premier Zhou En-lai and his wife, Deng Yingchao, and features photos, documents and dioramas of significant events in their lives. The museum is located near the Tianjin Water Park.

Afterwards, then go to visit the Shi family Mansion, The Shi Mansion, located in the 1,000 year-old town of Yang Liuqing, was the old residence of the Shi family, one of the eight prominent families in Tianjin in the Qing Dynasty, and was called the "No.1 Mansion in North China."

It covers an area of 6,080 square meters and has four rows of buildings of antique brick, wood and stone carvings. The mansion has been opened as Yang Liuqing Folk Customs Museum. There is a 300-meter-long street which covers an area of 20,000 square meters, on both sides of which stand houses in Ming and Qing styles, with a total floor space of 10,000 square meters.

Walk around the Tianjin Food Street and have typical Chinese lunch there. After lunch, you will be taken to Tianjin Cultural Street for exploring Chinese antique. Ancient Culture Street has more than a hundred small shops which sell old books, antiques, jade, traditional handicraft articles, folk craft, Yang Liuqing folk paintings, Zhang color clay figures, Wei's kites, Liu's brick carvings, Peking enamel, double-sided embroidery, paintings and many other articles.

Day 3 Tianjin (B,L)

Tianjin (B,L)

Sightseeing: Panshan Mountain, Dabei Temple

After breakfast, visit the Panshan Mountain which is famous for its beautiful landscape in china, Panshan Mountain is sinuous and tortuous, has no fixed direction and its form looks like a dragon, so it is also known as Panlong Mountain (coiling dragon mountain). It is located in the north of Guanzhuang Town, Jixian County, Tianjin City, and 12.5 kilometers northwest to the town. It is one of the southern branches of Yanshan Mountains. There are many sites in the area of Panshan Mountain, including the famous Three Spiral Positions (pine resort in the upper spiral position, stone resort in the middle spiral position and water resort in the lower spiral position), the Five Peaks (Guayue Peak, Zilai Peak, Zigai Peak, Jiuhua Peak and Wujian Peak) and the Eight Stones (Xuankong Stone, Yaodong Stone, Liangjia Stone, Jiangjun Stone, Jiamu Stone, Tianjing Stone, Hama Stone and Mang Stone), altogether four scenic spots and more than 30 views.

Then we will proceed to visit Dabei Temple. Founded in 1658, Dabei Buddhist Temple is located on the middle section of Tianwei Road in Tianjin. It is a famous ancient Buddhist monastery which once held the holy ashes of Xuanzang, a monk of the Tang Dynasty. The temple complex can be divided into the east and west courtyards.  The west courtyard is the original of the Qing Dynasty and is comprised of the Cultural Relic Hall and the Abbot Hall. The east courtyard consists of the entrance gate, Tianwang Hall, the Main Shrine Hall, Dabei Hall as well as Xuanzang's Memorial Hall.

We are back home and I just wanted to send you a note and let you know again how pleased we were with the tour package that you put together for us. It was last minute and I realize this made things more difficult for you. Everything worked out so very well!

We are back home and I just wanted to send you a note and let you know again how pleased we were with the tour package that you put together for us.  It was last minute and I realize this made things more difficult for you.  Everything worked out so very well!

All of our guides were wonderful.  We wanted to send a special letter to let you know that we were most impressed with our last guide, Mr. Yak (Tserang).  He was with us for the Tiger Leaping Gorge hike and then in Shangri La.  He was the high light of our trip!  Mr. Yak was so very helpful, knowledgable about the culture and the area and he was tremendously thoughtful and professional.  Joe and I have traveled the world quite extensively and can say that Mr. Yak was one of the best guides we have ever experienced.

We certainly will reach out to you again when we are ready for our next trip to China.

Thank you,

Juliana Jamail

I really enjoyed my tour in Xian despite of the high temperature. The information provided by the guide was relevant from a historical point of view. She was kind and she tried to answer all my questions.

Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses

Thank you very much for your letter, I really enjoyed my tour in Xian despite of the high temperature. In this context, it was helpful to have a transportation with air conditioning, thanks you also for the bottle of water, I suggest you to have the bottle of water cold and to keep them in an ice box.
