Cathay Pacific Gets Approval to Raise Fuel Surcharges for October

The Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong SAR government has revealed that it has given Catay Pacific Limited approval for a 3% to 5% increase in fuel surcharges for October 2010.
The fuel surcharge for short-haul flights will rise by 3% from HKD97 to HKD100 per journey from, and the surcharge for long-haul flights will increase by 5% to HKD506 from the current HKD481.
According to Cathay Pacific the surcharge levels will be determined by the ticket date.
The aviation authority said it had also approved applications from Singapore Airlines Limited to raise its short-haul surcharge by 3% and its long-haul surcharge by 5% and from All Nippon Airways Company to raise its passenger fuel surcharge by 3% to HKD100 per journey.
