Zuojiang Huashan Rock Art Cultural Landscape in Chongzuo City of southern China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was approved to be recorded in the World Heritage List on July 15 at the 40th World Heritage Committee meeting held in Istanbul.
As the 49th world heritage in China, Huashan (Hua Mountain) Rock Painting can be dated back to 2000 years ago. It harmoniously integrates the rich social life of local Zhuang ancestors into natural landscapes and rock paintings. The successful recording of Zuojiang Huashan Rock Art Cultural Landscape in the World Heritage List filled China’s blank in world heritage project of rock paintings.
