First Ladies of CICA member states visited Yu Garden in Shanghai

Peng Liyuan (C), wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Bun Rany (L), wife of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, Mehriban Aliyeva (2nd L), wife of Azerbaijan's president Ilham Aliyev, Raisa Atambayeva, wife of Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev (2nd R) and Dargia Nazarbayeva, daughter of Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev (R) visited Yu Garden in Shanghai on May 21 during the fourth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).


Built in 1559, Yu Garden was a private garden in ancient China’s Ming Dynasty. It fully displays the architectural style of Chinese classical gardens.

The First Ladies watched demonstrations of Chinese non-material cultural heritages and some entertainment performances including rural paintings, Gu Embroidery, Beijing Opera, Tai Chi, Shanghai Opera and children's performances in Yu Garden.
