Pit No.1: the largest pit among the three

Covering an area of 14,260 square meters, Pit No.1 is the largest with a depth of 5 miles. More than 6000 ceramic warriors and horses are standing aligned in a ring. There are 3 lines of horizontal clay warriors. With arrows and other long-distance shooting weapons in hands, they seem like taking up the job of defending the whole army. Behind the clay warriors, the main forces composed by 6000 clay warriors in armour are holding long weapons like spears and halberds. Together with 35 horse-drawn chariots, there are 38 columns in the 11 latitudinal corridors in total, which are the guarding army in the north and south. The excavated relics include more than 1000 terracotta warriors, 8 war chariots, 32 terracotta horses and about a thousand of bronze vessels.
