Kunming is a cultural and ancient city, is the capital of Yunnan's province. It is 6.213 meters on the level of the sea, with an annual average temperature of 58 degrees Fahrenheit. Also it is known as the "City of the eternal spring” and there are 26 ethnic peoples living in and around Kunming, like Yi, Bai, Hani, Zhuang, Dai, and Miao.
Due to its profitable geographical location, Kunming has turned into one of the principal transportation centers of the Asian southeast. It is necessary to remember that Kunming has a history of more than 2400 years, and it is a very important city as it has the entry door ways to the its neighbors and it facilitates the trade with the Tibet, Sichuan, Myanmar and the India.

Spring: It is windy and dry in Kunming in the spring, the temperature is about 10-24 degree centigrade and the temperature difference in the morning and evening is big with a lot of sunlight, light sweater and coat is suggested to take with.
Summer: There is no extreme hot in summer in Kunming, however tourists may see rains. The raining days in Kunming are mainly in summer but lucky enough most of them are only with a short period lasting about 10mins or so, and then continue with the sunlight burning and evaporation.
Autumn and Winter: It has little chance to wear a feather dress in Kunming during autumn and winter, remember the local saying ‘the raining days in Kunming is the winter’, most of the time a thin/thick coat or sweater is enough.
