Hong Kong Park features an aviary, greenhouse, the Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre, fountains, lily ponds, playgrounds, a restaurant and even a marriage registry. The aviary features more than 150 species of birds in a carefully designed tropical "rainforest”. Located in the Hongmian Road in Central with Jinzhong subway station as the neighbor, Hong Kong Park covers an area of about eight hectares. Built in 1991, it is an oasis of green amid the urban landscape combining modern design and nature and is one of the most charming and surprising areas in the city. Hong Kong Park is also famous for being themed by water and connecting different sceneries of the park together by manmade waterfall, streams, pools and overhanging cliffs. The 200-meter-high wooden bridge stenches throughout the park. While the garden, garden square, sculpture and print center of the park are truly refreshing.

The Park sits in a dip and is sheltered by the huge tower blocks and mountains shooting up into the horizon that surround the area. There is a Flagstaff House Museum of Tea Ware in Hong Kong Park, specializing in the collection, study and display of tea ware and featuring at its core the generous donations of Dr K.S. Lo (1910-1995), which include many fine examples of the famous Yixing teapots. The park also possesses over 2000 types of plant and a pottery and plate-painting center. Hong Kong Park is a gorgeous place to take a break from the high rises and hectic streets of Hong Kong.
