Dali Food

The most of the best restaurants of Dali are in the Gucheng. If you want to enjoy the delicacies of Dali, you can go to the Huguo Road in Gucheng. There are western meal coffee parlors with special features of minority such as Bai Nationality, Tibetan etc. which are everywhere. There are still many foreign visitors.

In the Huguo Road, many restaurants sell western meals and Chinese food, the visitors can taste the food of the taste of Yunnan and the local dishes of Bai Nationality.

Lengdongbaidoufuyu (冷冻白豆腐鱼)

Bai tea (Sandaocha) (山道茶)

Since the Ming Dynasty, it has been common practice for Bai ethnic group people to receive and show hospitality to guests by serving three cups of their unique Bai tea (Sandaocha), which literally means "treating guests with three cups of tea". The first cup of tea is made with Tuo tea (Tuocha), reportedly the best tea in all of Dali, which tastes a little bitter. The second cup is made with sweet ingredients, like milk fan (a local dairy product similar to cheese), walnuts and brown sugar.
