I'm doing very well, thank you. How are you? I'm guessing that you will be busy at work when you read this. I, however, have not had to go back to work, as I am retired ...although I do have work around my house to keep me busy. We didn't return home until last week, and I've been trying to convince my body that it's day time, not night, and visa versa.
I want to thank you and Chen for your planning and guidance. We three travelers were more than pleased with EVERYTHING that we did for the 5 days we were under your company's care... and for the very reasonable cost that was involved. I don't have any suggestions, since I can't think of anything that could have been done to improve on what we experienced during that time period. Everything was PERFECT!! We really loved the hotels, breakfasts and lunches, the tours of the minority villages, the rice terraces, the Li River cruise (including the perfect seating location), Yangshou, the ancient fishing village, the rafting, and the tour of the Guilin public park. All three of us LOVED the cooking class ... and the added bonus of getting to eat the delicious food that WE prepared! The only possible item I could mention is that the hotel rooms, while beautiful, were somewhat warm. Apparently there is a central control that over rides the thermostats for the air conditioners, since we had to call the front desk to have the room temperature lowered. That was a very minor problem, and it was adequately corrected. We would not hesitate to recommend your company to anyone that intends to visit Guilin. I am sure that the same could be said for any tours that you arrange anywhere in China. It was very kind of you to meet with us in Guilin, and to give us such nice gifts. We truly appreciated your thoughtfulness and sharing of your time with us.
I am in the midst of editing and sorting the many hundreds of pictures that I took in the 5 weeks we were in China; so, it may be a little longer before I am ready to send some photos to you. I promise that I will do so as soon as possible. Please forward this to Chen -- for whom we cannot say enough nice things. She was a truly a guide from heaven! I have some beautiful photographs from our days with her ... particularly of the rice terraces, which I had promised to send to her. I have not forgotten, and I will do that shortly. It has taken some time to get things back to normal after being away for so long.
Since my son lives in Shanghai, there is a good chance that we will be returning to visit your country sometime in the future. We traveled with him and his Chinese wife for much of our time there, calling upon your company to guide us only for the days that they were unable to travel with us. Since they both work, I would guess that a similar tour schedule would be required when we return. In that event, I will be sure to contact you for help with our touring plans.
Once again, thank you so much for all of your and Chen's help and attention.
With kind regards,
